長きに渡るCarlos SantanaとPaul Reed Smithの2人のパートナーシップは、PRS Guitarsの運命に大きく寄与してきました。この関係に敬意を示すべく、これまで彼のシグネチャー・モデルとその派生モデルを数多くリリースすることで、この枢要なパートナーシップに与ってきました。Santana Retroは、1980年代前半にポールがサンタナのために製作した”プリファクトリー”期のギターへのオマージュとして製作され、ウェスト部分を深目に絞ったボディ・シェイプ、オリジナル・モデルと同シェイプのヒール・カット、ヘッドストックの形状、そしてナットのデザインなどデザイン面において再び採用された特徴的なポイントが多々あります。
サンタナ自身が認める、PRSの歴史と最新の製造技術をハイブリッドした真の音楽的なギター。それがこのSantana Retroです。
